Getting Married

Overseas Marriages & Single Status Certificate

The same marriage procedure applies for couples residing overseas wanting to marry in Australia. Refer to Getting Married process page.

I have married many couples from different parts of the world including England, Vietnam, Lebanon, Iran, India, Hong Kong, Laos, Thailand and I continue to add more countries to the list. Simply contact us and we can guide you through the process again.

The only difference with overseas couple is that you’ll need to sign and have The Notice of Intended Marriage witnessed by an authorised person (e.g Australian Consulate) in your country. You’ll then send me a scanned copy via email and post the original to me.

For Prospective Visa Subclass 300

Once we’ve completed the Notice of Intended Marriage Form (NOIM) at our first meeting, I will supply you a letter along with a certified copy of the NOIM for your fiancé to submit to Immigration Department. Your partner in Australia can see us alone to complete this paperwork initially.

For couples who are residing overseas, we can complete the process and communicates with you via email, telephone and post.

For Onshore Partner Visa Subclass 820/801 & Offshore Partner Visa 309/100

Following your ceremony, your marriage is registered online by us.

Couples who are sponsoring their husband/wife to remain in Australia will also require to obtain the ‘Standard Marriage Certificate’ from the Registry of Birth, Death & Marriages (BDM) for Immigration Department. It will cost you from $51-$75 depending on your urgency. We can assist you by completing the application form and send it to BDM on your behalf (no extra fee with this assistance) or we can guide you how to obtain it directly with the Registry of BDM.

Visit NSW BDM’s website for more information: http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/bdm_fft.html

SINGLE STATUS CERTIFICATE (SSC)

The SSC certificate will certify whether you have been married in the relevant State within a specified period. We can assist you to obtain this certificate from BDM. The current BDM government’s fee is $51-$75 depending on your urgency. Please contact us and we can guide you with this process.
